SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – Thrive MSSE Public Day School
Mid-State Special Education is seeking qualified candidates for the Thrive MSSE Public Day School. The location of this school is 1500 W. Jefferson St. in Vandalia, IL. This school serves students who need a more restrictive special education day school than what the public school can offer. Training and support will be provided in the areas of curriculum, special education IEP procedures, Crisis Prevention Intervention, trauma-informed practices, PBIS, MTSS, participation in data teams, providing individualized services, modifications, and providing accommodations to students with a variety of needs. Qualifications: • Illinois PEL with endorsement in Special Education or approval • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintains automotive insurance coverage as required by IL law
Terms of Employment: • Full-Time Permanent – 180 Day Position with potential to attend paid professional development prior to the start of the school year • Start Date – August 2026 • 8:00-4:00
Salary/Benefits: • Depending on years of experience, range between $44,304 + 9% TRS contribution to $85,672 + 9% TRS contribution. • Benefits include 15 sick days, 3 personal days, TRS and insurance contribution, college tuition contribution towards continuing education that benefits our organization, retirement incentives, mentoring provided, professional development opportunities, and support provided.
