REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN
Mid-State Special Education is seeking qualified candidates for a Registered Behavior Technician opening for the 2026-2027 school year. Training to earn the RBT certification will be provided. Qualifications: • High School diploma or its equivalent with associate degree or additional training preferred; experience working with students who have low incidence disabilities and behavior challenges • RBT Certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board or willingness to obtain • Understanding of autism, experience implementing discrete trial instruction, systematic instruction, and behavioral interventions and strategies • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability and willingness to collaborate with school personnel to promote student learning • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain automotive insurance coverage as required by IL law
Terms of Employment: • Full-Time Permanent – 185 Day Position • Start Date August 2026
Salary: • Regionally competitive hourly range of $21-$24/hour board contribution towards IMRF and single insurance, 190 day contract with paid sick, personal, and professional development, mileage reimbursement, mentoring and supports.
