Oct 6, 2026
9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Online

Registration Cost: $100.00

Join ROE #3 and Amy Jackson for a five part K-12 Literacy Plan series. During each session we will focus on one strand. Critical Thinking (October 6), Syntax (October 14), Text Structure (October 21), Writing Craft (November 5), and Transcription (November 10). Each session will examine strategies that reinforce fundamental skills and promote higher-level thinking, enabling students to become more skilled and self-assured writers.

Critical Thinking (October 6) - Uncover how the ICLP boosts critical thinking in writing. In this session, you’ll learn strategies that guide students in developing, organizing, and linking ideas to elevate their writing in any K–12 genre.

Syntax (October 14) - Dive into how purposeful sentence structure, grammar, and conventions enhance clarity and fluency. This session shows how ICLP goals align with strategies for teaching sentence combining, variation, and cohesive writing.

Text Structure (October 21) - Learn how applying text structures improves coherence and meaning, and see how ICLP-aligned scaffolds guide students in planning and writing for varied genres.

Writing Craft (November 5) - Learn how word choice, voice, and style enhance a writer’s message, and see how ICLP strategies support students in impactful revision.

Transcription (November 10) - Learn how foundational skills—handwriting, spelling, and typing—promote writing fluency, while ICLP strategies enable students to focus on higher-level writing.

This training will be held online on October 6th, October 14th, October 21st, November 5th, and November 10th from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. A Google Meet link will be sent out prior to each training session. Each participant will receive 5.0 PD hours upon completion of the series. The cost to attend this series is $100/person.
