Mar 18, 2025
8:30 am - 11:30 am
Vandalia, IL 62471
This workshop addresses the critical issue of the school-to-prison pipeline and focuses on breaking the cycle through the implementation of equitable and proactive behavior intervention plans. Participants will explore how punitive disciplinary practices contribute to this pipeline and learn how to replace them with strategies that promote positive behavior, support student growth, and keep students engaged in learning. The session will cover the development of behavior intervention plans that emphasize restorative practices, social-emotional learning, and culturally responsive interventions. Educators will leave with tools to create inclusive environments that reduce suspensions, prevent escalation, and disrupt the cycle that pushes vulnerable students toward negative outcomes. This training will be held on February 5, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the ROE #3 PD Center. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The cost to attend this training is $25/person and a light breakfast will be provided. Each participate will receive 3.0 PD hours.
