High School Social Studies
Edinburg Unit 4
As Per Salary Schedule
Plan and implement a program of study employing instructional methods for grades 9-12 social sciences in the following classes: U.S. History, Civics, World Geography, Psychology/Sociology, World History, Illinois History.
Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students.
Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of students under his/her direct supervision.
Maintain written lessons plans and identify clear objectives for all lessons.
Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide progress reports.
Maintain and submit reports and records as required.
Communicate with students and parents or guardians on a regular basis.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedure.
Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Maintain and improve professional competence.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
Must possess an Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed in Social Science. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
